At Carterhatch house our main goal is to provide a safe, warm, nurturing ‘family home’ for vulnerable looked after children.

We believe that young people need a stable home environment to learn and grow. This is crucial to help them develop their identity and embark with confidence on all areas of their social and general life.

We believe that the family around the child is critical to help them achieve these goals. The team in Carterhatch house works as a ‘good family’ in each young person’s life. We provide care, help and support to each child, whilst also supporting and encouraging each other through the challenges and rewards that come with helping vulnerable children back on to their feet.

We achieve these standards by placing staff and team development at the heart of our service. This includes:

enrolling staff on relevant qualifications and training;
providing staff with the relevant experiences;
supporting staff with effective performance management; and
and recognising staff achievements.
